Nova Scotia PCs Close Campaign with Massive Lead
November 25, 2024 (Toronto, ON) – A new Liaison Strategies poll for the National Ethnic Press and Media Council of Canada (NEPMCC) finds the Nova Scotia PCs closing the campaign with a wide lead over the second place NDP.
Conducted from November 23-24, 2024, using interactive voice response technology, the Liaison poll surveyed 602 Nova Scotia voters. The margin of error for the poll is +/- 3.99%, 19 times out of 20. Liaison is a member of the Canadian Research Insights Council (CRIC).
"The Nova Scotia PCs are ending the campaign with a 26 point lead on their way to a majority government," said David Valentin, principal at Liaison Strategies.
"Though the campaign started with a high undecided rate it is now down to 9% and support is noticeably higher for the PCs since the beginning of the campaign. The NDP, meanwhile, is in second place. We were the first pollster in Nova Scotia to find the NDP in second place in 2024 - something we have seen repeated in other published polling of the election."
"Margins of error being what they are, it's possible for the Liberals to come in second, but clearly they will not be hitting the 37% they achieved in the last election."
"In Halifax the PCs are leading the NDP by 7 points (43-36), while outside Halifax they are leading by 35 points over the Liberals (57-22).
"With precious few voters undecided the campaign has now turned to voter mobilization and while the PCs are headed for a strong majority there may still be some close races," concluded Valentin.
