National Tracker: Liberals 44%, Conservatives 40%

April 26, 2025 (Toronto, ON) – A new poll by Liaison Strategies for the National Ethnic Press and Media Council of Canada (NEPMCC), the industry association representing Canada’s non-official language newspapers, TV, radio, and online news media, finds the Liberals leading with 44% (no change) to the Conservatives 40% (+1).
The rolling survey, conducted from April 23 to April 25, 2025, used interactive voice response technology to poll 1,500 Canadian voters. The results have a margin of error of +/- 2.53%, 19 times out of 20.
Liaison Strategies, a member of the Canadian Research Insights Council (CRIC), was the most accurate polling firm in the 2025 Ontario Provincial Election.
David Valentin, Principal at Liaison Strategies, said the following:
Today’s daily tracking shows the Liberals maintaining their national lead at 44%, while the Conservatives edge up to 40%. The NDP trails at 7%, with the Bloc Québécois holding steady at 6% nationally (and 25% in Quebec). The Greens and PPC remain at 2% and 1%, respectively.

Regionally, the Liberals continue to perform strongly, leading in Atlantic Canada (50%), Quebec (42%), and Ontario (48%), though British Columbia has tightened considerably, with the Conservatives now slightly ahead at 44% to the Liberals’ 43%. The Conservatives remain dominant in the Prairies (51%) and Alberta (61%), but their support continues to be inefficiently concentrated.
The NDP remains stuck in single digits, only reaching 10% in British Columbia. With these numbers, the Liberals remain well-positioned to form either a strong minority or majority government.
For the opposition parties - time has run out to stop the Liberals. The NDP is clearly doing what it can to save its incumbents, and it appears to be the same for the Conservatives in the closing days.
