Brampton: Brown Steady One Year Out From Election
October 27, 2025 (Toronto, ON) – A new Liaison Strategies poll for the National Ethnic Press and Media Council of Canada (NEPMCC) find Mayor Patrick Brown holding steady one year out from the 2026 election.
Conducted from October 22-23, 2025, using interactive voice response technology, the poll surveyed 800 Bramptonians. The margin of error for the poll is +/- 3.46%, 19 times out of 20.
Liaison Strategies is one of the most accurate polling firms in Canada. It ranked #1 in accuracy in the 2025 Ontario election and #2 nationally in the 2025 federal election. Liaison is a member of the Canadian Research Insights Council (CRIC).

David Valentin, Principal at Liaison Strategies, said the following:
If an election were held today - and the previous slate of candidates ran, Patrick Brown would easily be re-elected. 50% of Bramptonians would vote for Brown over 2022 runner-up Nikki Kaur (23%).

We took a look at the mayoral approval of ten big city mayors, and Brown's approval is smack in the middle. Only four of the ten mayors tested perform better than he does. 59% say they approve of the job he is doing as mayor, while 37% disapprove. Bramptonians love him or hate him - only 4% have no opinion, the lowest of any of the mayors tested.

When we asked Bramptonians what their top issue was 31% said Crime followed by Affordable Housing (15%) and Homelessness and Traffic (both 12% and tied for third). With only two other cities notching higher Crime numbers (Hamilton and Toronto), Brampton is at the top of the list for those concerned about safety.

Meanwhile at the federal level, the Conservatives have gained in Brampton and are now leading 48% to 41% over the Liberals. The NDP is doing relatively poorly in Brampton only scoring 7% among decided and leaning voters.
